My lovely husband was doing what any wonderful husband would do upon his wife's arrival to their new house....he cleaned. He waited to clean the bathroom because it was the worst. It was dirty when he got there...but him being the man he is just showered in flip flops and did not clean it. He described it as disgustingly dirty on several occasions. He spoke of the ring around the tub (which he only added to), the drain that did not drain and of a horrid shower curtain covered in mold.
The day before I arrived he decided to attack the bathroom. In doing so he purchased a new curtain, and HARD CORE tub cleaner (thank you AJAX). After hanging the curtain and cleaning the tub he knew he had to fix the drain or it would only get worse with my hair (I shed like a Husky in a Texas summer). This is how I knew it was bad.....Josh called me and said, "D I need to get a screwdriver...a flat head". When he said this I already was nervous because he really isn't the repairman type. I asked what he needed it for and he said the drain.
Well he went and got his screwdriver and went to work (which I had a feeling may have been a bad idea..but I was trying to be supportive and did not say a word...now I wish I would have lol).
Josh undid the drain....the pipe fell beyond reaching point and now we cannot take a shower until it gets fixed because it leaks in the apartment below (this was Wednesday...the repairman could not come until Friday). So his manager called and told us I could shower in THE LOCKER ROOM where the nasty dirty basketball players shower........................................cricket..............................laughter.....................small tears down my cheek.
Friday came and left.....no repairman.....so i decided to shower and plug the drain and scoop the water out with pots...Josh helps! Great team work....but I cannot wait until that plumber comes...European time is something I will NEVER get used to. Everything takes 2-4 weeks to get done...not used to that at all. I am from the microwave generation anything longer than a minute is too long :(
Let me end by saying my husband made this house look like it was never lived in! It was sparkling like Mr. Clean! I am VERY thankful for his work! I love you Love!
Lessons Learned: * When you have a bad feeling about something speak up :) * Always look for creative ways to rise above a bad situation! Scooping water is better than showering in a nasty locker room :)
